CirCoFin puts cities at the center of Circular Construction through the new dedicated video
To reduce environmental impact and preserve resources, circular construction represents one of the most concrete paths. The construction sector is currently responsible for 35% of greenhouse gas emissions and 40% of waste in Europe. These figures highlight the urgent need for a new approach that keeps materials and buildings in use for as long as possible. This idea is at the heart of the CirCoFin project, which supports the implementation of Circular Construction Hubs (CCHs): hybrid markets that combine a physical material bank - storing and processing reusable building components - with a digital marketplace that matches supply and demand for reclaimed materials.
CirCoFin has once again reaffirmed this statement through the launch of the project video, designed as an accessible resource that brings the concept of circular construction to users in the clearest and most impactful way. In particular, the video stresses the crucial role of cities and regions in driving this transition, as they are at the forefront of the local construction industry.
The CirCoFin project supports this transformation by equipping cities and regions with a practical, modular toolbox - covering market assessments and technical designs as well as business models, operational planning, and financial frameworks.
